Life - As usual

Nothing much happened last week....overall last 7 to 10 days were quite uneventful.
I think overall there has been quite a few trait of indiscipline which cropped up primarily getting up late in the morning and not really being regular with my workouts, kriya or Yoga.

Well! need to really try and make life more eventful ...

Hopefully things will be more interesting with a trip to Pune, Kolhapur and a one week holiday lined up in Kolkata.

Look forward to meet Didi/Dadabhai in Pune and all our relatives in Kolkata (It's my ist visit to kolkata after marriage)..

What else ... bi for now.

Town Hall in ABN AMRO

We had our Town Hall last Thursday (23rd Nov) in Taj Man Singh Hotel-Delhi.

The Communication from Coutry Executive Office said....

Dear All,
Mr. Jeroen Drost, CEO, BU Asia, Ms. Pauline van der Meer Mohr, Head Group HR and Mr. Ton Van Grampel, Head HR of BU Asia would be visiting
New Delhi on November 23rd and would like to use the opportunity to meet and address employees in a townhall on the occasion of their visit to India.
The townhall is scheduled to be held on Thursday, 23rd November, 2006 at 6:30pm at the Longchamp, The Taj Mahal Hotel, 1, Mansingh Road,
New Delhi and you are invited to the same.
This would be followed by cocktails and the event is expected to be over by 9pm.
Please note that as the Townhall would commence at 6:30pm sharp, request all to be there by 6:15 pm.
Look forward to seeing you there.
Best Regards
Romesh Sobti,
Country Executive, India.

So we landed up.....

My observation:

1.ABN AMRO Top Management really believes in communicating with it's employees specially those at a leadership position.

2. They alsways want to share the thought process which is prevalent at a particular point of time.

3. Growth is important -and now as a Bank they believe in focussed growth

4. As an Organisation they are really geared up for towards 535

Some observation which might sound negative:

1.Town Hall should always be for all employees ...can't be for specific set of employees.

2.As a Bank we really don't have dynamic speakers who can stir audiences and make them listen spellbound.

3.Felt some-where there is still disconnect in what HR and Business wants

4. Most HR initiatives (at least in India) are more are theoritical or at ideation stage.

Any how the good part was everybody dranked.had snacks (no dinner...cost control)...i could meet some dear colleagues from the Branches/Region.

Back in Office

I'm back in office almost after 3 days....i was in Ahmedabad last week to conduct interviews for setting up the new Branch of ABN AMRO Bank(thats where i work).....In fact Ahmedabad was the city where i started off my career in Blue Dart Express Ltd almost 10 years back as a Management Trainee.

The city hasn't changed mush other that those normal signs of infrastructural prosperity in the form of Malls and Multiplexes.Compared to a place like Delhi even today you get to see a lot of two wheelers in Ahmedabad as used to be the case some 10 yrs back. OVERALL - it was quite a nostalgic trip.

Last week was hectic ....we showed my grandma to the doctor on the final opinion about her hip surgery which was unsuccessful. It seems things are better and she need to be under regular guidance of a physio from now on. My Father in law arrived on Saturday for a week long stay with us.

We also attended a silver jubilee anniversary of our close family friend Soumenda & Bablidi which out of everything just make me realise one aspect of life 'It's one life...Time flies thus make the most of it'.....BTW we also attended a B'day party of PIA's 2 yr old friend (Life'a changed!!)

One big achievment last week- i did my sudarshan kriya every day a even when i was on tour.

It's Monday and lots to do in office ....thus let me sign-off.

A big Hello!

This is Kaushik and Sriparna (Shoma to all!) saying a big Hi! to the whole World of www.... Just to tell a little about us we are married and TOGETHERINLIFE for last 3 years. A year ago a little angel entered our life....Our daughter PIA.

Kaushik is a Banker (sounds better) who is basically a Sales person and Shoma is a Homemaker (ex-journalist) who worksout the whole day managing the unmanageable PIA.

We are big time travel freak and have been to almost the entire approachable Himalayas (we luv mountains).

It's just the start and we will keep posting about ourselves to let the World know us better.
